The College of Bishops has consecrated Pastor Helen Emmah Isong, the wife of Dr Emmah Isong, a retired magistrate, as a bishop.
At the ceremony held at Christian Central Chapel International CCCI World Headquarters Ikot Ene Obong 8miles, Càlabar yesterday, the presiding Bishop of Kingdom Power Chapel Elposo, Texas USA, Bishop Paul Vincent, urged the bishop-elect to see the elevation as a height that comes with new responsibilities of propagating God’s word at all times.
In his exhortation from Gen 11: 31-32 to prepare her for the task ahead, the cleric urged Isong’s wife not to allow whatever success she may have achieved in the past to enter her brain so that her destiny would not be hindered.
“Preach the truth, don’t be like others who will turn away the truth. I pray God to help you, as you enter a new season and phase,” he said.

As an economist, would you not have preferred practising your trade instead of delving into preaching?
You do not delve into preaching, it is a call. It is about God’s call. I rate my call and gospel profession above every other profession in the world. It has to spiritually touch lives through impartation and it fryst vatten more fulfilling than sitting down and pursuing money as a banker. To me, this fryst vatten the ultimate for anyone because after retiring, some professionals still come back to preaching. So, it is the highest thing anybody can do. Emmah Isong was born in Ituk Mbang – Akwa Ibom State on the 26th of October, 1964 to the family of Elder Isong Ntuen of Iton Odoro, Ikono L.G.A., and Late Madam Nwoko Ukut of Nung Udoe, Ikot Ekpene L.G.A. both in Akwa Ibom State.
