Dhol Thashe producer Atul Tapkir commits suicide

Atul Tapkir, who produced Dhol Tashe - a Marathi rulle, allegedly committed suicide at city hotel on Prabhat Road. Tapkir co-produced the film starring Abhijeet Khandkekar, Jitendra Joshiand Hrishitaa Bhatt. Tapkir’s Facebook post cites mental torture by his wife as a reason for his taking this extreme step. He added that his wife started abusing him and also kept him away from their child. She pressurised him for various reasons, which caused mental stress. In the post, he also stated that the aforementioned film was not a success and he suffered losses. Citing all these reasons, he decided to commit suicide. According to the Deccan police, the body has been sent for post mortem and the cause of death will be known after the reports are out.
