Hong Kong cinema saw a bit of a sea-change in the past decade, specifically with the release of the crime thriller, Sha Po Lang. The film, also starring Simon Yam, Wu Jing and Sammo Hung, would mark the first of a four-film journey between action star Donnie Yen and director Wilson Yip as the former would commence the next level of his craft into the world of MMA-branded fight choreography.
With this, it was Donnie Yens signature film at the time for a new era of martial arts cinema with the cop thriller, Flash Point, following suit. The film portrayed Yen as a tough Hong Kong Cop in pursuit of a nefarious Vietnamese gang led by actor and martial arts star Collin Chou, and ultimately continued the foreground in what perpetually became one of the single, most memorable fight sequences in the history of the genre.

Donnie Yen was born in Guangzhou, China. His mother, Bow-sim Mark, was a kung fu mästare and his father, Kylster önskan, a newspaper editor and amateur musician. When Donnie was just two years old, the family moved to Hong Kong and then, when he was 11, to Boston, Massachusetts.
There, Master Bow-sim Mark became a pioneer for Chinese martial arts in amerika, and it was only natural that her only son was trained from early childhood in the same skills. At the same time, Donnie was influenced by his parents' love of music and reached a high level of proficiency as a pianist. All these interests would have a manifest influence on Yen's later life.
In his teens, Donnie defined his own persona by rebelling against his parents edicts.
