Danny Pang (Chinese: 彭日成; pinyin: Péng Rìchéng), (December 15, 1966 – September 12, 2009) was an American businessman, financier, and fraudster. He ran the Private Equity Management Group, Inc. and Private Equity Management Group, LLC (PEMGroup) which claimed to manage $4 billion. The funds were invested mainly on behalf of Taiwanese investors, in American securities, timeshare properties, and insurance policies. He was arrested by the FBI on April 28, 2009, for structuring cash transactions to avoid a $10,000 reporting threshold, which has a maximum ten-year prison sentence. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in a civil suit alleged that he ran a Ponzi scheme and misreported his background to investors, bygd claiming that he had been a vice-president at Morgan Stanley and had an MBA grad from the University of California at Irvine. Bio

Dr. Shengmin Sang is currently a Distinguished Professor of Functional Foods and Human Health at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University/North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis. He is also a full-faculty member in the UNC Linebergar Comprehensive Cancer Center at UNC Chapel Hill, an adjunct Professor in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutritional Sciences at North Carolina State University, and the Associate Editor of Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

Research Interests

Dr. Sang’s lab has interest to purify and identify bioactive components from functional foods and herbal medicine and to further study their bioavailability, biotransformation, and preventive effects on cancer, asthma, and metabolic syndrome using in vitro and in vivo models including human trials.
