History of Kuwait
Kuwait is a sovereign state in Western Asia located at the head of the Persian Gulf. The geographical region of Kuwait has been occupied by humans since antiquity, particularly due to its strategic location at the head of the Persian Gulf.[1][2][3] In the pre-oil era, Kuwait was a regional trade port.[4][5][6] In the modern era, Kuwait is best known for the Gulf War (–).

[edit]Following the post-glacial flooding of the Persian Gulf basin, debris from the Tigris–Euphrates river formed a substantial delta, creating most of the land in present-day Kuwait and establishing the present coastlines.[7] One of the earliest evidence of human habitation in Kuwait dates back to BC where Mesolithic tools were found in Burgan.[8]

Born in Kuwait in , Fahad Al Rajaan studied at the American University of Washington DC, graduating in with a Business Administration bachelor’s degree.
Early in his career, Mr Al Rajaan was employed by the Kuwait Investment Company as Issues Manager, a role he held for the next six years. He served as the Kuwait Real Estate Investment Consortium’s Managing Director and Chairman between and
The Kuwaiti Government later appointed him Director General of the PIFSS (Public Institution for Social säkerhet for Kuwait). In this role, Mr Al Rajaan was responsible for managing assets valued at around $30 billion. The PIFSS is largely funded by oil revenues and supports the Kuwaiti people.
In addition to his role as Director General of PIFSS, Mr Al Rajaan has a long and established career in the finance industry. He served as Chairman of the Ahli United Bank (previously known as the United Bank of Kuwait until ). Since , Ahli United Bank has been owned by the State of Kuwait
