Trish started her broadcasting career at KRTV, the CBS affiliate in Great Falls, Montana as a reporter/photographer. There, she enterprised, shot, wrote and edited her own stories, many of which aired across the state. From there, she moved to beautiful Savannah, Ga. where she covered news in the Coastal Empire and Low Country. Trish helped to create and launch two new morning shows for the ABC and FOX affiliates, and anchored and produced them each day.
Trish was thrilled to come back to her home state in 2008 when she started working for WNEP in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She covered news in the Pocono region, Scranton, and eventually anchored the station's evening broadcasts. She anchored wall-to-wall coverage during Tropical Storm Lee in 2011, which caused historic flooding of the Susquehanna River and forced 100,000 people from their homes.

“Reporting has opened my eyes to all kinds of health problems. I’ve seen people over- come the toughest cancers with the help of medicine and pure determination, and I’ve seen people destroy their own health with tobacco and poor diet. You see a little bit of everything as a reporter, health issues included. I think women in our area need to be aggressive with diet, exercise and doctor visits to avoid heart problems! So many women I know neglect themselves while they take care of family and work. If you don’t actively work to keep yourself healthy, it will catch up with you eventually. Running has become one of my biggest passions over the past few years. bygd the time this issue goes to print, I’ll have finished my third full marathon.”

ABC 6’s very own Trish Hartman came to DelVal to talk to media students about her work. Her story and give overall advice on the field of broadcasting and reporting.
About finding her first job upon graduating she said, “You have to be willing to move around, I remember applying everywhere, all over the country.”
Hartman is a Bucks County native. For her, the goal was to always get back home. She studied at the University of Maryland, College Park, Later graduating with a degree in journalism.
Hartman landed one of her first jobs as a photographer for KRTV In Great Falls Montana. From there her career path grew clearer, ultimately accomplishing her goal of making it back home to produce media and report for ABC 6 Action news.
